Fire Inspections

Annual Fire Inspections in Wisconsin

Fire inspections are conducted annually in accordance with the Wisconsin Administrative Code. These inspections apply to:

  • Residential properties with three or more units
  • Businesses
  • Manufacturers
  • Buildings open to the public

The district has adopted a policy, as accepted by SPS 314, of conducting one inspection per year, except for high-risk occupancies like factories that use an excess of dangerous chemicals.

Emergency Lighting Testing

With the adoption of the new NFPA 2018 rules by the district and municipalities, it is the responsibility of the occupant to maintain a log of emergency lighting tests. This record does not need to be emailed or sent to the district but must be available for presentation at the time of inspection or upon request.
